Following my Association day this year, I felt a great desire to strengthen my daily spiritual work, but my daily “do-list” always seemed more important. I decided to set it aside and come to Sunrise Haven with the goal of establishing an expanded spiritual practice that would work for me anywhere. I was grateful for the uninterrupted time to focus solely on God and His ideas, but often wondered how I would keep it up at home. This prayer was answered when Mrs. Eddy’s definition of “Day” from Science and Health came to thought: “The irradiance of Life; light, the spiritual idea of Truth and Love” (584:1). Pondering it, I saw that my day has already been established. It’s not defined by my “do-list;” instead, my day is defined spiritually. And as I put my spiritual practice first, it will inform daily activity to the point that time will no longer be a constraint. Back at home and work again, it’s a challenge and privilege to prove this, but it’s a joy to have a program in place that supports my efforts. Thank all for the lovely space, delicious meals, and loving, respectful privacy.
